Hamad International Airport: Qatar Museum Shop and Cafe Completion
Poltrona Frau Qatar has completed the Museum Shop and Cafe at the Hamad International Airport Passenger Terminal (Departure Area) for Qatar Museums Authority.
The shop and cafe was designed by Studio Urquiola with a unified look using the same materials while using different shades to identify the function of each area.
Both areas feature hexagonal tiling which is realized on the ceramic flooring and metal ceiling panels.
The shop features old gray oak shelving and counters with Rosa Portogallo marble tops and copper varnished metal accents, bronzed glass back walls and copper varnished grid walls.
The custom furniture in the shop and cafe, particularly the bench and sofas are stitched with the special sadu pattern which is the traditional bedouin weaving pattern.
Poltrona Frau Qatar was the main contractor for the turnkey fitout works of the shop and cafe and this included the structural works, fit out finishing works for the floor, wall, ceiling, FF&E, MEP Works, IT/Security and Special Systems Design and Build Works. Poltrona Frau Qatar successfully completed the project through the partnership and close coordination with the subcontractors involved.
